Troubleshooting Receipt Printers and Cash Drawers
Occasionally the Phoenix Receipt Printer may become unresponsive and will not print any receipts and will not allow you to open the cash drawer either.
The Cash drawer is wired into the Receipt Printer, so if it is not able to open this indicates an issue with the Receipt printer not responding.
To troubleshoot this, follow the instructions below:
- Turn off the power switch on the receipt printer
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the receipt printer for about 20 seconds
- While you wait, please check that the network cable is properly secured at both ends
- Plug in the power cable
- Turn the printer back on and wait about 1 minute for it to properly start up and connect to the network
Once this is complete the printer should print all the queued receipts and attempt to open the cash drawer for each receipt printed until all print jobs are complete. The printer is now ready to be used again.
If the issue occurs frequently with the same receipt printer please contact IT as more troubleshooting may need to be done.
