Change a password
Steps for changing a password are below:
Note: it is recommended to update your Sheridan password before it expires, but if you are attempting to change a password after your current password has expired, you may not be able to perform these steps if you use a Thin Client to login to RDS.
Note: If you are trying to perform a password reset on a Sheridan supplied computer while working from home, ensure that you are logged into your local desktop and the GlobalProtect VPN is connected before attempting the steps below.
- Press Ctrl +Alt + Delete
- Click on “Change a password”
- You will now see a screen that asks for your old password, new password, and new password confirmation. When creating your new password, ensure that:
- Your password is at least 8 characters long
- Is not a password that you have used before
- Contains a capital letter
- Contains a number
- Does not contain any part of your name or username
- Once your new password is entered, go ahead and submit it.
Once your password is updated, you can use it to log into your computer and office apps. If you have any issues submitting your password, ensure that it meets the password requirements detailed above and try again. if you still experience issues please contact IT support so your issue can be further investigated.
