Creating a Team in Microsoft Teams
In Microsoft Teams, teams are groups of people brought together for work, projects, or common interests. Teams are made up of two types of channels — standard (available and visible to everyone) and private (focused, private conversations with a specific audience).
To create a team, follow these instructions below:

- Then click Join or create a team at the bottom of your teams list.
- Then click Create team (first card, top left corner).
- Choose Build a team from scratch.
- Next, you’ll want to choose what kind of team you want this to be:
- To limit content and conversation to a specific set of people, choose Private.
- For a community or topic that anyone in the organization can join, choose Public. - Name your team and add an optional description.
- When you're done, click Create.
- You will now be prompted to invite users or existing distribution groups into the Team, type into the field to perform a search for specific people or those groups, once complete click “Add” to invite them to the group
Your Team is now created and invites are sent!
